FAIRFAX, Va. - In recent disaster relief efforts, RVs have taken on a new role that goes beyond recreation, serving as temporary housing for those displaced by storms, floods and fires. In recognition of this, Parker Holloway and Kate Murphy of the Logistics Operations Division of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will present a workshop at the RV Dealers Association (RVDA) Convention/Expo coming up Nov. 11-15 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The FEMA officials will present a workshop, “FEMA: RVs Role in the Temporary Housing Mission,” twice on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and preview its content during g RVDA’s annual meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The workshops will focus on how RVs are making a difference during the early stages of the recovery process, how a housing mission works, the place of RVs in that mission and FEMA’s expectations when buying a travel trailer, as well as lessons learned from the 2017 -2018 hurricane seasons.
