GQ's recent photo shoot, featured men climbing rocks and showing off their incredible abilities, while the women sat around to watch them. This made the Outdoor Women’s Alliance and other outdoor organizations and companies pretty upset. Not only is it sexist, but it is also a bad representation of what the outdoor community looks like.As The Huffington Post relates in the article: “Female climbers have been pushing the boundaries of the sport for decades... and our work is done both on the rock, and within the community,” Zofia Reych, female climber and anthropologist, wrote on the OWA website. “Yet you chose to ignore them, and instead...you chose to feature fashion models who not only have nothing to do with the sport, but within your piece are merely eye candy to accompany the men.”Because of this, Outdoor Research decided to make their own version of the photo shoot which can be previewed on the right.Check this full article at The Huffington Post right here.-MRV: The Buzz
