NASHVILLE, Tenn. - TransCore introduced the RV Toll Pass, a transponder that automatically pays tolls without stopping at a toll booth. Using TransCore's multi-protocol National Pass technology, the transponder is available for all RV configurations, including 2 and 3 axle motorhomes and vehicles towing trailers. Users are charged at the electronic rate, typically lower than the cash or video toll rate, and are billed for the service only in months the transponder is used. Linked to a single billing account, a transponder typically pays for itself in a single trip, according to a press release.
TransCore reports that 35 states now have toll roads, and that the RV Toll Pass works on 97 percent of them. "This technology will change the way RVers use toll roads," Don Brady, TransCore's VP of Business Development, said. "Convenience is key as it makes traveling across the country and through heavily tolled regions much easier. Drivers won't have to worry about cash lanes, getting on the wrong toll road or making sure they have the right transponder for where they're going."
