Understanding the life of an athlete, especially a race car driver is an interesting journey. One of the interesting facets is those drivers who are fathers to small and growing children. Every day is a risk and filled with highs and lows. However RVs play into the mix as the article states below. NASCAR itself recently launched the NASCAR Campground Network to connect more with this part of population. NASCAR.com reported and spoke with some teams and drivers about this very pertinent subject of fatherhood while racing.
Matt Crossman & David of NASCAR.com relate in their article: "Leading up to the race, [Kevin Harvick] examined problems that could crop up and strived to eliminate as many of them as he could. He thought back to the season finale the year before. His son, Keelan, was 1 1/2 at the time and had cried all night long. It's hard enough to sleep in a house with a racket like that. In the 40-foot motorhome in which Harvick sleeps at the race track, it was impossible. Harvick got, at most, two hours of sleep that night. ."
