CAMBRIDGE, Ontario â The Record, a Canadian news outlet, reports that the auctioneer tasked with liquidating the assets of Erwin Hymer NA is giving away about 100 fiberglass trailer shells that failed to sell in the July auction. Infinity Asset Solutions successfully auctioned off 12 fully finished trailers and 15 partly finished units on July 16, but the fiberglass shells found no takers. Originally scheduled for July 16-19, the auctioneers had to add a fifth day to the sale schedule, after a record 1,200 bidders registered. "We just couldn't get it done in four," Bruce Lyle, auctioneer and president of Infinity Asset Solutions, told The Record.
Now Lyle is urging people to come and take the fiberglass shells, which measure about 15 feet long, off his hands. Handmade signs touting “free fiberglass trailer shells” have appeared along Reuter Drive in Cambridge. “Please take more than one,” another sign urges. One sign gives hints on possible uses - an ice fishing hut perhaps, or a playhouse for the kids. Lyle just wants them gone. "They're free to take, just show up," he said.
