New Atlas reports on one of the outstanding entries in the overland truck camper field introduced at SEMA this year. Built on a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT pickup and upfitted by California-based Hellwig Suspensions and Old Steel Fabrication, the camper features an off-road package with an Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 5 suspension; 35-in Falken Wildpeak tires; 17-in Icon Alloys Compression wheels; Bushwhacker fender flares; Addictive Desert Designs front and rear bumpers; a T-Rex X-Metal grille and front bumper-embedded Rigid light bar. Up top, a Tepui Hybox roof tent which doubles as a cargo box, provides both sleeping and storage space.
Inside the truck bed, a BedSlide provides easy access to a slide-out Trail Kitchen galley with sink and Camp Chef stove and ARB fridge, as well as a Goal Zero Yeti 1400 power station connected to solar panels, Compact Daystar fuel cans, Rigid Industries lighting and storage containers. The RIGD bike carrier, equipped at SEMA with two Specialized electric bicycles, swings out to provide easy access to the kitchen without unloading the bikes, and also includes a drop-down worktop.
