Yosemite Gateway Businesses Band Together To Revive Tourism
Editor's Note: This news item was retrieved and first published through Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau's website.
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. - After a devastating California fire season, the Yosemite Valley at the national park is once again open, emerging undamaged by the flames. The four counties that make up the Yosemite Gateway communities - Mariposa, Tuolumne, Madera, and Mono - experienced devastating declines in tourism due to the emergency. To honor the re-opening of Yosemite Valley and other main attractions throughout the park, as well as the hardworking National Park Service, Cal Fire, United States Forest Service and other brave personnel who worked to save communities and preserve the park, the Gateway communities have initiated the #YosemiteNOW campaign. The hashtag also spreads updates on Yosemite's current conditions to the public.
Fans of Yosemite can share the love on social media by using the hashtag to let everyone know that Yosemite is open now. Visitors past and present are urged to join in on the #YosemiteNOW campaign, by posting a picture or video of Yosemite National Park with the hashtag. For a limited time, Visitor Centers in Mariposa, Tuolumne, Madera, and Mono are offering free #YosemiteNOW heart signs.
For additional information on current conditions, visit the Yosemite National Park website.
