According to a story in the Columbus Dispatch, Chris Haydocy, president of Haydocy Airstream & RV in Columbus, plans to build a $6 million upscale RV resort on land located between his dealership and the nearby Hollywood Casino Columbus. The proposed Road Adventures Resort will include a clubhouse with grab-and-go food, a fitness center, a saltwater lagoon, bike rentals and rental RVs as well as 135 full hookup sites. A shuttle will run from the campground to the casino.
Haydocy told the Dispatch he has reached a tentative agreement to buy the land from Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc., the real-estate affiliate of Hollywood Casino parent Penn National Gaming. The $6 million project would receive an estimated $2 million in funding from the federal government's 2017 Enterprise 360 Opportunity Zone Fund initiative which encourages investments in specific census zones across the nation.
