News Blip: Coral Crater Adventure Park
Pacific Business News Reports On The Long, Bumpy Road Entrepreneur Jim Owen Was Forced To Encounter While Building A New Oahu Attraction
In order to stand out from the competition as an outdoor attraction on the island of Hawaii, Jim Owen knew he had to think BIG. Oh, and fun! After years of planning and regulating from the government, he was able to develop Coral Crater Adventure Park in Oahu. Zip lining in general is a major point of interest and he knew there was none of its kind in town so he made sure to include this exhilarating activity.
Pacific Business News intern Billy McGivern relates in his article: "Jim Owen had been helping visitors see all of Oahu’s exotic tourist destinations for 20 years before he decided to make one of his own, and then had to wait another seven years to make it happen." The main hiccup was trying to lease of the land he wanted to build the park on. The property was owned by the Navy since the 1940s. The project was delayed because it was a unique deal that had never been done before and because of the bureaucratic nature of dealing with federal government. However after it was all settled, the outcome was well worth jumping the obstacles.
