WINCHESTER BAY, Ore. â The Umpqua Post reports that the Winchester Bay RV Resort, adjacent to the Salmon Harbor Marina on the Oregon Coast, plans a major expansion that will add 40 new RV sites, as well as laundry facilities, showers and restrooms, Wi-Fi, and more. The project is expected to cost $2.5 million, according to Salmon Harbor Master Paul Stallard, who told the Umpqua Post he anticipates the project to be completed by the fall of 2019.
The new section of the resort, which will increase campsites by about one-third, will be located at the north end of Marina Way. Visitors to the campground have the use of facilities at the city-owned marina, one of the largest recreational facilities on the Oregon Coast, offering superb views as well opportunities to fish for Chinook salmon and striped bass and catch Dungeness crabs from the dock. Located along the Umpqua River, Salmon Harbor Marina and the Winchester Bay RV Resort offer convenient access to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and miles of white-sand public beaches.
