LANSING, Mich. – Pure Michigan, a brand created by Travel Michigan to market the state as a travel and tourism destination, announced the release of a first-of-its-kind, ambient album featuring sounds recorded at state parks, such as birdsong, lapping waves, and whistling wind, blended with the compositions of a dozen Michigan musical artists who were given the freedom to mix their track as they saw fit. The resulting album, “Pure Sounds of Michigan,” takes listeners on a sunrise-to-sunset tour of the state in honor of the Michigan State Park Centennial being celebrated this year.
Produced and released by Detroit-based Assemble Sound, the album will be available for free download or stream on all major streaming platforms on May 22, with a limited vinyl run being pressed by Detroit’s legendary Archer Records. Three singles from the album are already available, including “Childhood Memories” by John Beltran, “Forest Trails” by Windy & Carl, and “The Rock” by Waajeed.
