NAARVA (The National African-American RVers Association) is an organization that brings different cultures together for some RV fun; mainly connecting African-American RVers to each other. The organization was created in 1993 when founder Lemuel Horton realized that campgrounds didn’t have many people of color. "We would go to a campground and there was no one like us," said Elaine Standifer of Virginia."It's always nice to connect with other people."
Moreover, this association gets together once a year for a rally and time of fun. Not only does it create friendships but it has also been known to bring happiness and a bit of light wherever it goes. “We always hope people are glad to have us when we come because we really do leave a good bit of green," said Clayton, who's been a member for 12 years.
