AccuWeather reports on the latest update of Hurricane Dorian, which is expected to make landfall in Florida on Monday, September 2. The National Hurricane Center said that the storm, still packing maximum sustained winds of 85 mph, was moving at 13 mph as it entered the open - and warmer - waters of the southern Atlantic. Forecasts show a significantly increase in strength to possibly a Category 4 hurricane as it approaches. On Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency to give officials enough time to prepare for the storm.
According to a report by CNN, the state currently have one million gallons of drinking water, and more than one million meals available for those who need it ahead of Hurricane Dorian, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said during a news conference this morning. As Dorian approaches, conditions will deteriorate first along the southeastern U.S. Atlantic coastlines, with increasingly rough surf and rip currents.
