Iowa Casino Expands, Adds RV Amenities

LARCHWOOD, Iowa - NwestIowa.com reports that the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort, a member of the Elite Casino Resorts group, in embarking on a $10 million expansion plan. Among the improvements, the resort’s RV park will add 25 sites to its existing 14, all with full hookups, including 50 amp power. The pet-friendly campsites are open from around May 1st to the end of October each year and have a five-day maximum stay, although longer stays can be negotiated. Camping fees include access to the resort’s pool and exercise room.
Expansion plans also include a new hotel wing near the pool area, which will add 63 rooms, for a total of 160 at the resort. The current Show Lounge will be transformed into a sportsbook, an establishment that takes bets on sporting events, with large overhead television screens and monitors, betting kiosks, teller desks and a bar with food service. Live entertainment, formerly in the Show Lounge, will be moved to the bar and lounge area located in the center of the gaming area where a stage will be added. The Sportsbook and new entertainment venue are scheduled for completion by August, with the new hotel wing and additional RV sites available next summer. The construction and renovation work is not expected to impede gaming, dining and other resort activities.
