Daily Fly Reports On Three Counties In Washington Who Are Working Together In An Attempt To Preserve The Shorelines
Three counties in Washington, including Asotin, Garfield, and Columbia, teamed up with Clarkston and Starbuck to update their systems in an attempt to preserve more than 300 miles of shoreline. Moreover, the program has been made available for public review.
As Daily Fly writer Mia Carlson relates in her article: "This program will guide construction and development along shorelines, including the Snake, Grand Ronde, Tucannon, Touchet, and Wenaha rivers. Ecology officials say it will help protect miles of undeveloped shoreline while managing high-intensity, water-dependent uses like the Snake River dams, port facilities, and other commercial uses."
