News Blip: Michigan Draws In More Campers & RVers
MARVAC's 28th Annual Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show That Took Place This Early October Attracted Tens Of Thousands Of Prospective Buyers
The nearly 14,450 attendees to the 28th Annual Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show this early October had a busy day looking at the 289 motorhomes, pop-ups, fifth-wheel and toy haulers on display inside Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. According to Darren Ing, director of The Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds, a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging growth in the recreation vehicle and private campground industries, the show turned out an 11% increase from the 2016 Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show.”
This year's show also proved to have campers and RVers looking to buy in the near future. "From exchanges with attendees and post-show discussions with RV dealers, we perceived a predominant percentage of attendees were not RV owners—yet—but very interested in what they saw and expected to make a purchase within the next year,” said Ing. Special guests Tom Daldin & Jim Edelman from “Under The Radar Michigan" remember when they first experienced RVing: Filming the RV segment in late September 2017. “Now we understand what all the hoopla is about! RVing is a great way to see Michigan," says Daldin.
