A judge has ordered the property owner of Lewis River RV Park to sign up Cowlitz PUD electric service until another hearing on the matter on Feb. 19. The temporary order also requires Jerry Reeves to make regular payments for the PUD bill and work with Waste Management to haul away the park’s garbage on a regular basis. Reeves said Tuesday he has re-established garbage and internet service at the park, which is home to about 60 families. The Daily News writer, Alex Bruell, relays in his article, "The order signed by Cowlitz Superior Court Judge Michael Evans came after three weeks of uncertainty for park residents, a period in which the PUD had threatened to cut off power while Reeves declined to sign up for service. Community donations held off the shutoffs, but the PUD was scheduled to cut service Tuesday if Reeves failed to open a power account." The RV Park relies on a well with an electric pump, so losing power would mean losing water, too. The PUD bill for the RV park averages about $6,000 a month, PUD spokeswoman Alice Dietz said. She confirmed Tuesday that the utility will continue to provide power to the RV park.
