Delmarva has been experiencing many changes to its campgrounds. One of the main reasons is because campground owners see the great potential and increasing popularity of their campsites. Recent changes include the sale of Frontier Town, The Sun purchase of the Fort Whaley Campground among others.
Delmarva Now writer Jeremy Cox relates in his article: "After a few down years during the Great Recession, the campground and RV park industry has driven revenues up 16 percent to an estimated $6.1 billion, according to the market research group IBIS World. On Delmarva, campground owners are responding to their new found popularity by turning land on their properties into more rental spaces as well as freshening up old amenities and building new ones."
