The National Wildlife Federation (NWF), in association with Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts and Keystone RVs, is asking campers to take a pledge to go camping this year as part of the annual Great American Campout. The camping experience can be anytime and anywhere (park, beach, campground, forest, or backyard). Many special events are planned during the event, including guided nature walks, wildlife-themed crafts, scavenger hunts, camping tips and “how to” demonstrations, at campgrounds across the nation. Events at Jellystone Parks can be found on the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts website. Campers can share selfies of themselves camping on NWF’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts using the hashtags #campie and #GreatAmericanCampout.
Wildlife benefit from the Great American Campout through the NWF Trees for Wildlife program, which will receive a donation of 5,000 regionally-specific native trees, to be planted across the country by youth groups. Forests provide critical environment for wildlife in every ecosystem.
By taking the Great American Campout pledge, campers are entered for a chance to win a Keystone’s 20th anniversary Springdale Mini 1800 RV or a week of camping in a Jellystone park of their choice. Register by Oct. 31, 2018 on the NWR website.
