This football season, Dr. Pepper is launching their marketing campaign by taking Larry Culpepper around in a trailer as he interacts with fans. Football has been increasing in popularity in the last decades and is a great opportunity for Dr. Pepper to increase their fan base and have an advantage over their competitors.
As The Dallas Morning News writer Karen Robinson Jacobs relates in her article: "In this year's advertising we're getting him out of the stadium and putting him out on the road to engage directly with the fans," said Jaxie Alt, senior vice president of marketing at Dr Pepper. In a spot for the Tailgate 2000, Larry shows off his custom-made, state-of-the-art RV that was tricked out by California-based auto restyling center West Coast Customs. The Tailgate 2000 features a retro-style TV, soft drink coolers, pigskin seats and a custom mural of Larry.
