An application to develop nearly 10 acres as an RV park was submitted to The City of Orting in Washington state. The project includes plans for 86 RV spots on a 9.76 acre site at 201 River Ave. NE. Plans include parking for public use of the picnic areas and walking trails. The News Tribune writer, Josephine Peterson, relays in her article, "Orting residents shared their thoughts, and most of the 27 emails written to the city object to the project, according to records obtained by The Herald. Some felt increased traffic would negatively impact the neighborhood." The lot is intended as a short-term mobile home site, with stays no longer than 180 days, according to the project application. The land was bought in 2018 for $255,000 by Darrin Jones, according to Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer’s Office. The public comment closed Wednesday, but there will be an environmental review and another comment period in the coming months. To read more on the proposed RV park, visit here.
