STONEWALL, Texas – 9Locals Investments is renovating the historic Stonewall Motor Lodge, originally built in 1964 to house members of the US Secret Service and press corp during President Lyndon B. Johnson’s time in office. The retro motel is being fully rehabilitated with mid-century modern decor, and will offer guests 12 rooms, six RV sites, and eventually cabins.
The motor lodge is located in the heart of Texas Hill Country, along the Fredericksburg Wine Road 290, with more than 50 wineries, breweries and distilleries within a 15 minute drive. “Most of the vineyards on the Hwy 290 Wine Trail close around 6 pm,” co-owner Anita Ortiz Lubke said in a press release. “We plan on creating cozy spaces where guests can enjoy the bottles of wine they picked up on their tastings either in our new lounge, on our deck, or around our fire pits.”
