NY & NJ’s Tri-State Camp Conference Gets Underway
The American Camp Association Reports On This Week's Conference Offering Camp Professionals Educational Sessions Geared Toward Improving Business Operations, Programs & Activities & Staff Leadership.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ– The largest gathering of summer camp professionals in the world will come together at the Atlantic City Convention Center from March 20-22 for the American Camp Association (ACA), NY and NJ’s Tri-State Camp Conference. Over 3,000 camp professionals, camp staff, youth development professionals, and “out of school” experiential educators will attend the conference to learn at over 180 educational sessions, find new services and products in the 300 both exhibit hall, and spend time with like-minded professionals who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children through the summer camp experience.
The Tri-State Camp Conference offers camp professionals educational sessions on business, programs and activities, campers, staff leadership, operations, and community. The conference also includes 250 exhibitors who showcase and sell products and services to camp professionals. Represented in the exhibit hall is everything a camp needs to run a successful program including: waterfront equipment, food service, rock climbing walls, clothing, out of camp trips and more. If an organization is interested in selling products or services to camp owners and professionals, this is the conference to attend. The conference will kick off today, March 20th with an opening keynote address by Dr. Shefali Tsabary. Dr. Shefali will outline how to raise resilience levels within children and help them to achieve their most authentic selves. Tennis legend and champion for social justice Billie Jean King will be the closing keynote speaker on Thursday, March 22nd and will look at the unique opportunity in the workplace for generations past, present and future to work together in an inclusive environment. The estimated economic impact is expected to reach more than $2.1 million during the three days. In addition, more than 1,950 hotel rooms have been contracted by convention center visitors throughout the week.
