NBC Reports On The University of Montana Campus Recreation Youth Camp's Efforts To Bring Fun, Fitness & Social Interaction To The Children
The University of Montana Campus Recreation Youth Camps is making sure young campers are getting their exercise outdoors this summer. The school believes it is important for the growing kids tho get physical activity and adopt more social skills, and planning sports games and other activities outdoors is the perfect outlet. The children make new friends and learn how to perform in teams. Most of all, they have fun!
NBC reporter Heidi Meili relates in her article: "UM Campus Recreation said it's more important than ever to get kids moving. Camp directors tell NBC Montana technology and shrinking programs at school make it more important than ever for families to instigate recreational activities on their own." The fact that some physical education programs are being cut by any school is discouraging. Camp Director Taylor Calenberg says, "We give them a chance to explore on their own, and maybe they develop a love for it too, where they want to be fit for the rest of their lives."
