Glampervan Promaster Doubles As Mobile Office, Cargo Hauler
Editor's Note: This news item was retrieved through New Atlas' website.
New Atlas reports that the Promaster MUV van upfit, a multi-use vehicle built by San Francisco company Glampervan, is designed for urban dwellers and digital nomads who might use the van for day-to-day driving, business meetings or hauling cargo, as well as weekends away. Built on the medium Ram Promaster with a 136-inch wheelbase, the Promaster lacks some of the luxuries of other campervans now on the market but makes up for it in maneuverability and a low profile, ideal for “stealth camping.”
Some of the more unusual design features of the Promaster MUV include a rooftop observation deck, a transverse Murphy bed that folds up against a side wall clearing the center space for cargo, and front seats that swivel 90 degrees to face a removable center table. A portable potty, refrigerator/freezer, 3 auxiliary batteries, USB ports, extra insulation, and enhanced lighting and audio components add to the van’s versatility. The company is taking deposits on upfits now, with the final features ultimately determined by the customer.
