SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Morgan’s Wonderland, the world’s first theme park designed with special-needs individuals in mind yet built for everyone’s enjoyment, kicks off its 10th season at this Friday, March 1. “Inclusion is the overarching objective for Morgan’s Wonderland,” philanthropist Gordon Hartman explained. “The same is true for Morgan’s Inspiration Island. Our vision is to play an instrumental role in helping establish more ultra-accessible places where those with and without disabilities can come together for fun and a better understanding of one another.”
According to a press release, on opening day, Morgan’s Wonderland will host its monthly Senior Friday and offer discounted admission of $8 for guests 62 and older. Senior Friday will include a gathering of the First Friday networking group that enjoys camaraderie, coffee and conversation. The inspiration for Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Inspiration Island came from philanthropists Gordon and Maggie Hartman’s 25-year-old daughter Morgan. Her soaring spirit despite physical and cognitive challenges sparked within them a deep desire to help children and adults with special needs.
