The RV Industry Association announced that the upcoming RVs Move America Week, coming up June 2-6 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC, will feature a speech by former Congressman Dennis A. Ross, one of the founders of the influential RV Caucus, at the June 3 Welcome Reception. An advocate of the industry for many years and an avid RVer himself, Ross will share insights on how to be most effective in meetings with Congressional and Administration officials later in the week. While in Congress, Ross championed the passage of the REC Act, co-sponsored the GSP technical fix legislation and supported the RVIA’s campground modernization and expansion initiative, among many other acts supporting the RV industry. RVIA awarded him its National Legislative Award in 2018.
Michael Smerconish, a host on CNN and nationally-syndicated radio, newspaper columnist and New York Times Best-Selling author, will speak to RVIA members on June 4. “Michael Smerconish has gained national recognition as an independent and moderate voice in our political media,” President of the RV Industry Association Frank Hugelmeyer said in a press release. “As the RV industry prepares for critical meetings on Capitol Hill, we look forward to hearing his insights on the current climate and how it might affect our industry moving forward.”
