Bert Lewis is looking to create a 36-site recreational vehicle park called Loblolly Lake RV Park at his business, Lewis Nursery, which is just a few miles from the park. He believes an RV park would be able to house many of the construction workers who come to work at the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill. Southern Virginia Megasite is the largest industrial park in Virginia, has been fitted with utilities to meet the demands of large-scale industries such as manufacturing. Caleb Ayers of Go Dan River relays in his article, "So far, only one company has announced plans to set up shop in the park. Dominion Energy is developing a power plant that is projected to be completed and operational by April 2022." Residents of Huntington Trail have put together a petition opposing the campground, and has reached 28 signatures. A letter included with the petition referenced the possibility of their property value depreciating, potential increases in crime, environmental concerns and increased traffic on the small roadway as reasons that the campground should not move forward.
