ASHBURN, Va. - The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP), along with other donors, are excited to announce the revitalization of Catherine Street Park in Baltimore, Maryland with the Parks Build Community Project. The project was set up nationally to demonstrate the transformative value of parks on the health and vitality of communities across the country. The newly renovated Catherine Street park was unveiled Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, ahead of the NRPA Annual Conference in Baltimore.Thanks to the generous support of NRPA’s 2019 Parks Build Community donors, Catherine Street Park includes a play fountain, basketball goals, basketball court surfacing, playground equipment, baseball field bleachers, outdoor fitness equipment, benches, picnic tables and a drinking fountain.
