News Blip: RV Helps Hockey Family
Yahoo Sports Reports On Young NHL Player Jason Robertson Who Lived In An RV With His Family During His Rise To The Big League
Before Jason Robertson made it to the NHL, he went trough some growing pains. Him and his brothers all play hockey, yet are different ages and played in different leagues. The scheduling conflicted; however, they only had one set of parents to tend to them of course. With traffic and needing to be at multiple practices, the parent's duties to transport them there couldn't have been more difficult. The solution Robertson's father came up with was buying a very large RV.
Yahoo Sports writer Greg Wyshynski relates in his article: "Robertson’s father would pile his young players into the RV, drive it to the rink and park it there until their games and practices were done." It was a convenient way to be able to relax and wait places far from their home. All the boys had room to watch TV, eat, and do homework while they didn't have hockey to play. The RV life eventually brought Jason to the draft line where he was selected at Number 39 to the Dallas Stars on the second day of the NHL Draft in Chicago.
