News Blip: Outdoor Education At Montana State University
Billings Gazette Reports On Rock Climbing Enthusiast & Student Receiving A Degree In Outdoor Adventure Leadership & MSUB Golden Merit Award
A passionate rock climber from Montana named Seth Robertus has scaled hundreds of feet of rock over the past four years, and recently was in fashion to climb the stairs to the stage at MetraPark in May during the Montana State University Billings graduation ceremony. Robertus was awarded the MSUB Golden Merit Award, which is given annually to students who have displayed a strong commitment to community, academics and leadership.
Billings Gazette writer Mike Kordenbrock spoke with an assistant professor in MSUB's Department of Health and Human Performance and relays what Lynne Fitzgerald had to say: "What sets Robertus apart from others is his ability to handle himself with tranquility during the decision-making process. I can always count on him to keep his head in stressful situations and think through and not be reactive." Robertus plans on continuing his education and completing a degree in nursing to possibly work as a travel nurse, on a medical emergency flight team or as a medical expert on guided expeditions.
