News Blip: Enlightening 34 Day Skiing Trip
Seattle Times Reports On Trevor Kostanich & Forest McBrian's Hiatus Skiing From The Snoqualmie Pass To The Canadian Border In One Attempt
Duo Trevor Kostanich & Forest McBrian take on a challenging feat by skiing from The Snoqualmie Pass in Washington to the Canadian border in a single go. The back-country skiers love to be outdoors and are willing to go through the cold temperatures and harsh terrains to say they were able to accomplish this rare venture.
The Seattle Times writer Evan Bush relates in his article: "When snow blankets the range, backcountry skiers can travel great distances above tree line. They ascend by attaching skins, essentially carpets adhered with glue, to the bottoms of their skis that grip the snow, and then rip them off to descend untracked terrain. The month was spent mostly in isolation for the two buddies, but they were happy to get the use of their cell phones back. Speaking on the outdoors, McBrian says, “Whether that’s a wild place or a city park or a backyard, it’s something we need and helps us thrive.”
