The Rolla Daily News Reports On The Once Male Dominated Sport Which Is Now Becoming More Popular Amongst Women
Hunting deer has been a popular sport for many years, since the early ages of hunting. But what was once known as a male dominated sport, has now been picked up by many women. It was found that female participation increased by 83% between 2001 and 2013. It is even used as a way for female family members to bond and have fun together.
"Grandmas influence their grandchildren, too," Dian Cooper said. "I love to hunt and shoot. I didn't have much opportunity to teach my own children to hunt, but life circumstances have changed which have allowed me to teach my grandchildren to hunt. I relish the time I spent in deer camp with Raven, my granddaughter last year. We made memories that will last a lifetime."
