News Blip: Associated Press Worker Needs Outdoor Time
Omaha.com Reports On Unsuspected Adventurer Grant Schulte's Idea Of Getting A Break From Work By Climbing Devil's Tower, Which Is 5,000 Ft Above Sea Level
Grant Schulte is not your average outdoor adventurer, at least according to society's standards. Working with newspapers most his career, Grant sometimes needs a break from the "papers." To clear his mind, he participates in ultra running, rock climbing and mountain hiking. Being "tall and lanky", Grant had a difficult time climbing at first. However, his perseverance has enabled him to keep at it and be able to say he has climbed Devil's Tower.
Omaha World-Herald writer Kelsey Stewart relays in her article: "Schulte is going back to Devil’s Tower later this month for a few days of climbing. On that same trip, he plans to hike at least three 14ers. He’ll run the Good Life Halfsy in Lincoln with his girlfriend in October. He’s considering a full marathon, a 100-mile bike race or a 50K in the next year. And soon, he’d like to complete all of Colorado’s 14ers."
