CTV News, an Ontario, Canada news outlet, reports that Rapido, the French company that entered the winning bid to purchase the Roadtrek RV assets of bankrupt Erwin Hymer NA, is accepting job applications. Rapido plans to initially hire 200 people to reinvigorate the popular Roadtrek Class B campervan brand. The first 100-130 hires should begin in July, according to officials at the United Way’s Erwin Hymer Employment Action Centre, set up to aid the 800 employees laid off by the company in February.
“Our priority will be to reestablish operations and further develop this famous brand in North America," Rapido President Pierre Rousseau told CTV. Roadtrek joins other popular RV brands, including Westfalia, Dreamer and Fleurette, under the Rapido Group banner.
