LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. - Property owner plans expansion at Deer Valley Campground's RV park, located in the Ozarks, MO, by expanding an additional 160 sites over the next three years. The property was purchased by George Tucker in January 2016, and includes the RV park and popular Lakefront restaurant Franky & Louie's. The Deer Valley Campground RV park opened in 1965, on Deer Valley Road (Lake Road 5-41) at the 10 Mile Marker by water.
Lake Expo writer Janet Dabbs relates in her article: "Deer Valley currently has 300 campsites, most of which are available for annual rental, but a handful of which are rented daily or weekly. Owner George Tucker has requested the Camden County Planning & Zoning Commission grant rezoning for a portion of a 52-acre piece of land, to allow Prestige Lakewide LLC to expand the RV park over the next few years. At the Jan. 16, 2019 Camden County Planning & Zoning Commission meeting, however, some neighbors asked the P&Z commission to reject the rezone." Due to the opposition, P&Z tabled the request. The request seeks to rezone 10 parcels from (R-1) Low Density Residential to (R-2) Medium Density residential and (A-R) Agricultural Residential to (B-2) General Commercial. The rezone would consolidate the parcels to meet the minimum lot size requirement for (B-2), which is 22,000 sq. ft. RV parks are a permitted use in (B-2) General Commercial zoning. The Camden County Unified Land Use Code requires a minimum width of 25 ft and a minimum length of 50 ft for each RV site.
