Harrison Holds The Grand Opening Of The Upgraded Arkansas Welcome Center

HARRISON, Ark.- Arkansas Welcome Center has a planned grand opening in Harrison on November 2 to unveil its new facility. The event is hosted by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism (ADPT), and is open to the public. The facility offers visitors up-to-date information on attractions, regional events and weather conditions. The building amenities will include computer kiosks, free Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee. The landscaped exterior also offers picnic tables for travelers looking to take a short break from the road.
According to the press release, "As part of the Welcome Center’s recent $2.5 million upgrade, a completely new building was built in the same location as the old center. The address is still 3391 Arkansas Highway 65 N." The ribbon cutting ceremony at the grand opening will include a presentation of the colors by the Arkansas National Guard and comments by ARDOT and ADPT staff. Thirteen other Welcome Centers are located at various points of entry to the state. An additional location can be found in Little Rock, which serves as a centrally-located center for visitors.
