Goshen City Council Approves Tax Abatement for Lippert

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Goshen News reports that the Goshen City Council voted last week to approve a new tax increment financing (TIF) district southeast of the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds. The Lippert / Dierdorff Economic Development Area will be the location of a new $20 million facility focused on light manufacturing, research and development for Lippert Components Manufacturing Inc., an international company that builds components for the recreational vehicle (RV) industry. Lippert (LCI) has been in growth mode during 2018, completing the acquisition of three companies since January. The Elkhart, IN based company bought STLA s.r.l, a Pontedera, Italy-based manufacturer of bed-lifts and other recreational vehicle components for the European caravan market, earlier in June. In February, Lippert acquired the business assets of Los Angeles, CA based Hehr International Inc., which manufactures windows, tempered and laminated glass for the RV, transit, and specialty vehicle industries. In January, Lippert completed the purchase of the Taylor Made Group, LLC , headquartered in Gloversville, New York, one of the recreational marine industry's largest, most diversified suppliers to boat builders and the marine aftermarket, with ten facilities, including two in Europe.
