Bluffton Today reports that the Hardeeville City Council is proceeding with plans for new 950-site RV park located on 185 acres on the east side of US 17, just south of Exit 5 on I-95 near the South Carolina state line. The first phase of the project will have one entrance from U.S. 17 where commercial businesses, such as stores and restaurants, will be located, with the RV sites invisible from the road. Another entrance further south at the end of the site is planned later. The project has been in the works for some time, with modifications addressing previously raised issues, and a final vote of approval is expected in the near future.
The planned RV park will be upscale with a clubhouse and swimming pool, trails, fitness and laundry facilities, plus sports complex including a playground, pickleball and tennis courts, and open fields. The facility would serve both vacationers and temporary construction workers from the anticipated new development at River Port and the Sherwood Tract. Hardeeville is the fastest growing city in South Carolina.
The mayor of Hardeeville , Henry Williams, published the news in a memo, found here.
