DUSSELDORF, Germany - For the second year in a row, Caravan Salon, the world's largest trade fair for motorhomes and caravans, significantly increased attendance with a record 268,000 visitors, up from 250,211 in 2018. “This makes our event not only the most visited trade fair for caravanning but also the best-attended leisure and holiday trade fair in Europe,” Wolfram N. Diener, managing director at Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, said in a news release. The next Caravan Salon is scheduled for August 28 - September 6, 2020, at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf.
This year, 645 exhibitors from 31 countries presented 2,100 RVs featuring the latest state-of-the-art innovations. The more than 2.3 million square feet of exhibition space spread across 13 halls and an outdoor area, also hosted displays from the manufacturers of camping accessories and technical equipment, campgrounds, RV parks, and travel destinations. Numerous suppliers reported that interest and sales were higher than in previous years. “What was striking was the high level of international visitors, especially from the Netherlands and Spain,” Jürgen Dieckert, managing director of IRMA / TopPlatz, said. “There was also a high proportion of new customers and newcomers.”
