New Atlas reports on the Expedition 4x4, introduced by British company Rolling Homes at 2019 NEC Motorhome & Caravan Show held Oct. 15-20 in Birmingham. The bright orange campervan, built on the short-wheelbase 148-hp VW T6 4Motion transporter, is equipped with an off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, a front bull bar, rock sliders and skid plates for off-road excursions. Inside, the Expedition boasts a two-seat rear bench/bed mounted on rails for easy removal, kitchen with dual-burner stove, sink and fridge, and pop-up sleeper roof with a solar panel on the outside.
Started ten years ago by cabinet maker Mark Cooper, Rolling Homes specializes in customized campervan conversions using mostly VW bodies. In keeping with the founder’s commitment to high quality and sustainability, the vans are insulated with eco-friendly sheep wool and feature lightweight solid oak cabinets, work surfaces and tables.
