News OK Reports On The Boy Scouts Of America's Annual Trappers Rendezvous Tradition That Fell On A Ice Cold Day In Kansas This Year
This year, the Boy Scouts of America, faced a new challenge when celebrating their annual Trappers Rendezvouz camping trip. Usually, the event attracts more than 6,000 troops. However, this year, thanks to the freezing and rough weather in Kansas, only the ones who were up for the challenge attended.
As News OK writer Theresa James relates in her article: This year was a little different. After predictions of ice, what some even called “ice-pocalypse,” many Scouting units canceled their trips. But the threat of ice did not affect many youth from the Last Frontier Council, who live the “Be Prepared” motto. Nearly 75 members packed their bags with extra layers for warmth and hit the road to Burton, Kansas, where the event took place.
