OutThere Colorado reports on a large and first annual mountain bike race for Colorado Springs that is being planned for September 2020. A media advisory sent Monday by Visit Colorado Springs said the four-day event will be held on the slopes of Pikes Peak, "utilizing dirt roads, four-wheel paths and mountain bike singletrack in the Rocky Mountain backcountry."
According to the OutThere Colorado article, "An introductory press conference for the mountain bike race took place on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019. The race is to be “world-class,” as the advisory said, “offering a supported mountain bike adventure and a $50,000 prize. Micah Rice, director of the race and previously an organizer for USA Cycling, stated more details would be unveiled October 2nd at USA Cycling headquarters.
