Massachusetts Lemon Law Not Applied To RVs

The Massachusetts Lemon Law protects consumers if they buy a vehicle that has serious defects. However, the law does not apply to RVs. Just ask Christine Melanson, who bought a $27,000 2018 Prowler camper at Camping World in Berkley and immediately noticed problems with the RV. After not being able to resolve the issues with the dealership, Christine reached out to NBC10 Boston Responds for help.
Before seeing help Christine says about her interactions with Camping World: “We’ve had nothing but aggravation. I think we’ve taken probably a half a dozen trips back and forth down there trying to get things resolved. I have made so many phone calls and sent so many emails, to not only the service technician, service manager, the general manager, and they will do nothing to help me.” NBC10 Boston Responds facilitated an appointment for repairs that were made in August. Yet issues still arose. Camping World ultimately exchanged the family's trailer for another that they were satisfied with. It may be difficult and scary at first to realize you spent all this money only to find out what you paid for is not working correctly, but time and persistence is needed in order to make things right. The State’s Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation says affected people can still attempt to find a resolution under the Consumer Protection Act.
