At Lyndon Institute, a comprehensive high school that links academic and technical education to the needs of the labor market, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program helps students learn a trade and use it. Skilled workers such as being a service advisor, machinist, RV parts manager, RV technician, or service &warranty manager are examples of possible technical work. According to a press release on Caledonian Record, "In 2017, over 5,000 students in Vermont participated in CTE programs: 93 percent of them graduated from high school, and 94 percent left high school with technical skills that made them instantly employable; 88 percent of those students entered the workforce, joined the military, or participated in an internship." Manufacturing is a high-demand occupation in the Northeast Kingdom, VT. There are currently 1,182 manufacturing jobs in the area, many of which are difficult to fill.
