An epic 5,000 mile journey across Europe from Bristol, England to the Bosphorus is the latest challenge for leisure vehicle manufacturer Bailey of Bristol and the Caravan and Motorhome Club of Britain. The caravan of two Bailey two caravans (a Pursuit 550-4 and Pegasus GT70 Rimini) and one motorhome (an Advance 76-4), all built using Bailey’s patented Alu-Tech body shell construction, leave Bailey’s South Liberty Lane production facility in Bristol on April 9 for a three week journey that will visit 21 countries, traveling through Europe across the Bosphorus strait in Turkey to the coast of the Black Sea, then back again. The aim of the odyssey is to inspire holidaymakers to venture abroad and experience great journeys for themselves, according to a Caravan Club press release.
Founded in 1907, the Caravan and Motorhome Club is Britain’s largest camping organization, representing the interests of over one million caravanners, motorhomers and trailer tent owners across the UK. Bailey Marketing Director, Simon Howard, said, “The forthcoming Bristol to Bosphorus Challenge looks set to be one of the most demanding yet not only because of the distances involved but also because of the sheer variety of road and weather conditions we are likely to encounter. The 21 day adventure will also show that you are really only limited by your imagination as to where a caravan or motorhome can take you.” Bailey sponsored two other road trip adventures in recent years: a 3,500 mile journey across Australia in 2015, and the Arctic Adventure 2017, which traveled 5,000 miles from the UK to Northern Finland inside the Arctic Circle. As they travel across the continent, the team, which will include top management from both Bailey of Bristol and the Caravan and Motorhome Club, will post regular blogs/vlogs and social media updates on their companies’ social media channels, using #bristanbul.
