Forbes reports that AutoCamp, which operates glamping resorts in several California locations, including the newly opened AutoCamp Yosemite, announced its first East Coast location on Cape Cod will open in late 2020. The new glamping destination, about 90 minutes by car from Boston, will offer 108 units, including glamping tents, tiny houses and the 31-foot-long Airstream trailers in a car-free environment. Airstream custom-designs these trailers for AutoCamp, models that include modern amenities such as a full bath, heating and air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and bluetooth connectivity. The Cape Cod location is a joint effort with Boston-based real estate investor Blue Flag and real estate development company Whitman Peterson. The project includes the restoration of over 22,000 square-feet of wetlands with native plants.
According to the AutoCamp website, the new facility is located five minutes from Falmouth and Wood’s Hole, Mass. Amenities at the resort include a two-story, 8,000 sq.ft. clubhouse, designed by award-winning New York firm Workshop/APD, where a complimentary continental breakfast bar of locally sourced items will be served daily. Ready-to-cook BBQ kits, s’mores kits, grab-and-go snacks, local beer, wine, and other beverages will be available for sale in the mid-century modern lounge with indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Weekly activities will include yoga, beer and cider tastings, and music by the campfire. The dog-friendly property offers luxury pet kits with a blanket, food and water bowls, and treats. The company is currently accepting pre-booking in advance of an early 2020 opening to the general public. Rates are expected to run about $200 per night.
