INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Allison Transmission executives were joined by Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb to break ground on the company's new Innovation Center in Indianapolis. The 95,000-square-foot facility, expected to be completed by 2021, is part of a $400 million commitment by Allison to expand its presence in its home state. The initiative also includes the previously announced Vehicle Environmental Test facility, as well as expansion of the company’s core business. The new facilities are expected to add more than 300 jobs to the company’s 2,700 employees worldwide, the majority of whom are in Indiana.
"The Innovation Center will consolidate our product engineering groups and facilitate internal and external collaboration for technology and product co-development," David Graziosi, president and CEO of Allison Transmission, said at the groundbreaking ceremony. "The concepts being generated and simulated in this state-of-the-art facility will allow us to bring new technology and products to market more efficiently and faster that add value to our customers, partners and suppliers.”
