POUCH COVE, Newfoundland â Newfoundland, a remote Canadian destination accessible to RVers only by ferry, becomes one of Yogi Bear’s newest homes when Marine Park in Pouch Cove opens as Canada’s sixth Jellystone Park Camp-Resort on June 29, 2018. The grand opening will occur all weekend through Monday July 2nd for what is called the "Wake Up Yogi Bear" event. The 450-site campground operated for 21 years by David Snow and his family is located on the tip of the Avalon peninsula north of St. John’s and is known for its family activities and themed weekends.
Snow says he decided to join the Jellystone network to tap into its experience and expand his overnight traffic. “It would take us 80 years to gain the knowledge and experience that we can acquire instantly by joining the Jellystone Park franchise network,” Snow said in a press release. The national network is also providing guidance on everything from developing organized activities to recommendations on vendors. “We’re adding to our play structures and redoing our store to make room for Jellystone Park novelty items,” Snow added. Rental accommodations are planned as well.
Although Marine Park is open year round, it will have its grand opening as a Jellystone Park on Canada Day, July 1, as the culmination of the Wake Up Yogi Bear weekend. For more information, visit Marine Park.
