ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The National Wildlife Federation’s Great Lakes Regional Center has launched a new podcast focusing on conservation issues from around the country focusing on a hunting and fishing perspective. “Conservation Country, the name of the podcast, explores the biggest conservation issues facing our country’s fish and wildlife through interviews with the men, women and organizations working to solve them,” said Drew YoungeDyke, host of Conservation Country and communications coordinator for the National Wildlife Federation’s Great Lakes Regional Center, in a press release by the NWF.
The first five episodes, released last week, feature topics ranging from Asian carp in Kentucky Lake and threats to the Mississippi River delta to western public lands issues like National Monuments, Wilderness designation and sage grouse conservation. Guests will include Bill Cooksey of NWF’s Vanishing Paradise program, Marcia Brownlee of Artemis Sportswomen, Idaho Wildlife Federation executive director Brian Brooks, Mississippi Wildlife Federation executive director Lindsey Lemmons, and more. New episodes will be released every two weeks. Conservation Country is free to stream and available on iTunes, Stitcher and Podbean. It is supported in part by a conservation partnership between the National Wildlife Federation and fishing apparel maker Rep Your Water.
